Alison sighed. "Get pregnant, I suppose."
"Unless we can figure out a way to stop it," said Joy. "A way to reverse the wish. We could use the dream and nightmare machine. It came first... wishes can't reverse it. All we have to do is..." Joy halted. "I don't know if we can."
"Why not?" replied Alison.
"You can dream that something is happening to you. Then the machine can make it happen. But here we want to make it so that something isn't happening to us."
"But it's not a literal dream, right?"
"Right, but even so. If I use it on someone, the dream is going to be 'I really want to become a millionaire'. Then the machine makes them a millionaire. The dream isn't 'I really want to not get run over by a truck' and it doesn't make them immune from having to look both ways before crossing the street."
"Hmm..." said the big girl. The other big girl, that is. "Joy... argh, I can't even say Jon when I use it as a name... Joy, that's still a good idea. We could use the dream machine to become guys again. It's basically our dream anyway."
"That's right," responded Joy. "And one of us would be a pregnant guy. We need to solve that problem first. Or at least, just change back one of us and make sure it's the other one that gets pregnant. Not to mention figuring out how to get pregnant. I really don't want to go find a guy to screw me, but I don't want to stay home for the week and find that a rapist just broke into my house because the wish is going to make it happen one way or another. Maybe a sperm bank..."
