Joy and Alan spent the next fifteen minutes explaining to Karyn McMillan what had happened. They didn't get everything, since as far as they knew Joy had always been Joy, but they did explain that Karyn had used the dream machine and not become their friend, but they figured out a way to change things back.
"Really? I did all that?" said Karyn. "And sorry about your nails."
"Forget the nails," said Alan. "They're off now."
"Yeah," said Joy, "it's over. Anyway, do you think my cheerleading tryout is going to go well? You're Sarah's sister... what does she think?"
"As you might guess, she thinks you'd make an ugly cheerleader and she doesn't want someone on the team who looks like a guy in drag. I wouldn't worry, though. She got overruled by the coach; cheerleading isn't a beauty pageant. Just do your best and it should be fine."
"Pretend I'm there watching you," said Alan.
"Sure!" Joy smiled and kissed Alan.
"So how did it go?" asked Karyn the next day after the tryout.
"Well..."
