Jon thought for a while. "Well," he said. "What if we tried taking them off at the same time? Karyn didn't say anything about that."

"That might work ... but if it doesn't, it means that one or both of us will be stuck as girls," said Alan.

"Well, at least we can try," said Jon.

"Yeah, I guess."

"Okay, on three. One, two, three."

Both of the boys started taking of their disguises at once, sliding their shirts off at nearly the same time. Nearly.

"Did it work?" asked Alan.

"I think so," said Jon.

All of a sudden, Alan's chest ballooned out to fill the C-cup bra he was wearing. "Ahhh!!"

What had happened was that Alan had taken off his shirt a split second after Jon, meaning that he was the one who would transform. While it wasn't impossible to take off their disguises at exactly the same time, it was improbable.

"Crap. I'm really sorry, Alison," Jon said.

"Nothing we can do about it," said Alison. "But we've got to get that stone back."

"Let's do it," said Jon. "You know, we make a great team."

"Yeah ..." Alison agreed. "Even if I look like a guy with fake hair, breasts, and hips. We're still best friends." Her voice, which hardly sounded different from her male one since her voice wasn't really disguised, trailed off. "I ... no, we can't ..."

"Is something wrong, Alison? I'm sure being a girl like this must be hard to handle."

"I'm just feeling confused, Jon," replied Alison. "But I'm happy that you understand."

"Yeah," replied Jon, trying to comfort his friend. "We'd better see what we can do about the stone first, though."
