"How about I wish that you two be married?" said Karyn.

"You can't!" replied Joy. "I'm a guy!"

"Well... you still look sort of like a guy, but that's no costume any more. Sarah, we need to...."

"I was afraid we'd have to use this," said Joy, and took out the dream machine device. "I really don't know what this will do. For all I know your nightmare is something like catching a deadly disease, which could be a lot of trouble for us. But we're not just walking away from here empty-handed."

Joy quickly touched the ACTIVATE button next to the second line--the nightmare. But what was Karyn's nightmare? She read it, only to see that Karyn's nightmare was to never exist in the first place.

Karyn and her clothes disappeared. The stone fell to the floor, and Joy grabbed for it, dropping the dream machine. However, Sarah grabbed for it too. Meanwhile, Alan went for the dream machine and raised it to point it at Sarah, but Sarah managed to blurt out "I wish you two would stop moving until I say you can."

Joy and Alan suddenly halted, Alan caught in the middle of aiming the dream device. There was a terrified expression on their faces, as Sarah quickly took away the device and smashed it against a fencepost.

"I wish that Karyn was back," said Sarah. While the machine could override later wishes (since it was an earlier wish), that didn't mean the machine wasn't itself reversible. Karyn appeared out of thin air.

"Easy come, easy go, hm?" said Sarah. "Here, Karyn," she said, throwing the stone over to her. "I think you had some kind of idea?"
