Pausing before I started up the stairs, I poked my head into the living room where Michelle-Anne was watching cartoons.
“Hey, little bro,” I greeted hym. Spinning hys head around excitedly, causing hys pigtails to swish, Michelle-Anne squealed and jumped up, running over to hug me.
“Zane!” hei exclaimed.
“How was school?” I asked and with that, hei launched into a detailed explanation of hys day. I rolled my eyes, instantly regretting asking as hei talked about what clothes hys friends wore, what the teachers wore and what hei learned in beginner's makeup.
“We learned how to put mascara on today,” hei babbled excitedly. “Wanna see?” Hei looked at me eagerly and I winced.
“Ugh, sorry Michelle, but I’ve got some homework to do. Maybe later?” As if, I thought. Who wants to watch a boi put on makeup?
“Oh, okay,” Michelle-Anne replied, a little dejectedly. “I’ll show Jonatha when hei gets home.”
I nodded. “I’ll let you get back to your cartoons. What are you watching?”
“Kinnabelle in Paradise.” hei replied excitedly. I nodded again.
“Right…Anyway, see you later.” I got out of there as quickly as I could—too much masculinity for my tastes—and headed up to my room. Time to make some wishes.
