Karyn grew taller and more masculine. There was stubble on her chin. Her face looked like a guys, and her arms and legs seemed bigger and hairier. But that was just about all. Her long blonde hair and breasts didn't change, and she was still female--or at least, she didn't have any qualms about being in a woman's restroom.
Karyn said "What are you staring at? Leave me alone!"
"I think we'd better go," said Joy. She ran out, with Alison, and then stopped outside and made a wish: "I wish I knew why that didn't work."
"Did it tell you?" wondered Alison.
"Yeah, it told me. You can't wish for a magic item that reverses past wishes. If you could you would be able to reverse absolutely anything that way. It would be a cure-all."
"What? Past wishes? I guess it wouldn't help us, then. But what past wishes were on Karyn?"
"Long blonde hair, big breasts, and being Sarah's sister. The ray could make her masculine but it couldn't make her a guy--then she wouldn't be Sarah's sister."
