"Well, for one thing, are you my friend?" he asked Alan.
"Does it matter? With the stone, you can make Karyn your friend, while still staying friends with me."
"Oh yeah. That's right. But I have to make sure I word it right. I want to make sure you're exactly the same as you are right now."
"Do you think I'd become really different if you didn't?" Alan asked.
"Not really. But I don't want to take any chances. Would you?"
"No. Okay, go ahead and make your wish."
