In her bedroom, Karyn was busy applying nail polish to her toe nails. After she was done, she got off her bed. When her feet touched the floor, her left foot stood on something that put her off balance.
She reached down. It was an odd-looking stone. For some reason, it seemed familiar, but she had never seen it before. As far as she could remember.
"Huh. I wish I knew what this thing is and why it's in my room."
And suddenly she knew. It was a wishing stone. That loser Jon Smith dropped it when he broke into her house.
She smiled, thinking of all the things she could wish for. But there was one wish that dominated them all.
