"Why are you staring at me!?" cried Sarah Smith. The eyes of everyone in study hall were aimed at her and Melissa McMillan. Everyone knew that the two girls had just been created out of Sarah McMillan and Melissa Smith.
Sarah looked at her pale, freckled arms. Part of her felt that those tiny brown dots didn't belong there. The other part - the Melissa Smith part - did. I'm a freak, thought Sarah. We're both freaks!
"I think you should have specified exactly what 'we' - meaning us and them - were supposed to know," said Karyn.
"At least they still don't notice us," said Jon. "That wish can't be reversed."
"Nor can their knowledge." Karyn almost felt sorry for the new Sarah and Melissa. The study hall was now out of control. Everyone but Jon and Karyn rushed up to the merged duo. Science geek Jaye Duncan couldn't resist the temptation to study the "freaks." Others barraged the girls with questions and insults.
"I wish they didn't know!" Jon dropped the device. It fell onto the floor, where it spun and fired beams of light at the feet of all the students.
Now they didn't know, because they weren't them anymore. Jon, Karyn, and all the students who knew were gone, and in their place were twice as many people ...
