Karyn woke up. Her eyes were red and puffy, like she had been crying. "Can I go now?" she asked.
"Um, sure," said Jon.
Karyn got up and started getting dressed. "Um, Karyn," said Jon. Karyn turned to look at him. "What did we do last night?"
Karyn slapped him. "What did we do?" she yelled. "What did we do? You blackmailed me, Jon. You blackmailed your best friend into fucking you! I had to spend an entire night humiliating myself in any way you asked! And now you ask, 'What did we do?'"
Jon was stunned. What had happened? What could he have wished for that would cause him to blackmail his best friend. Karyn was sitting on his bed, sobbing. "I can't believe you did that, Jon," she said. "I'm your friend. You could have just asked me for sex. I would have said yes. But, no, you had to blackmail me. I told you about that whole incident because I thought you'd understand! That was secret, Jon. And you use it to make me have sex with you. I'm sorrym Jon, but I don't know if we can be friends any more."
Karyn stood up and, still crying, walked out of his room. Jon wondered what he had done to her, and if she was walking out of his life as well.
