Zooey and Karyn burst through the door to Karyn's apartment laughing. Her apartment looked like a swanky sorority den from a bad late night film. It was decked in pink and lavender.
Giggling they both crashed down onto the couch. Zooey threw off her jacket and pulled the lipstick from her purse and smiled. Karyn kicked off her shoes and curled her long legs underneath her.
"So I wonder how this thing works?"
"Like... I know how birthday wishes work! You can't let anyone hear them or they don't come true."
"How many wishes do you think we get?"
"Like, I dunno. A genie only grants three."
"We should wish for more than three."
"Totally! Wish for like... ten a piece!"
"Yeah!"
"And like, make sure they all come true. In Aladdin there were like rules and stuff on wishes."
"Okay, I wish that Karyn and I had ten wishes a piece and that they all come true!"
The lipstick container grew warm and a white glow enveloped the room. Karyn and Zooey looked at each other in excitement and began giggling. Little did they know that Zooey's wish had placed a limit on the rock and made it so that no one would know of each new, altered reality, not even the person making the wishes.
"Okay! Now what?
"Let's make wishes for each other! It'll be like we're giving each other magical presents!"
"Yeaaah!"
Zooey grasped the rock again and looked at Karyn.
"I wish Karyn was the hottest girl at Bimbo Inc."
The lipstick flashed and suddenly the two girls were sitting in an expensive loft at the top of a building downtown. Karyn was now curvier, smoother, tanner, and had much softer features. Shee oozed sensuality. For a moment, the two girls sat in silence, looking at each other with confusion. Then Karyn lashed out.
"Like, Zooey! You just wasted a wish! How much sexier can I get?!? I'm already the sexiest employee at Bimbo's Inc. Geez! Be smart next time you wish. Don't waste them!"
Zooey shook her head. She knew Karyn was already the prettiest girl there and couldn't figure out why she'd wished that. Karyn reached out and grabbed the lipstick from her.
"My turn. Watch and learn. I'm gonna wish for something you don't have, but you're gonna thank me for afterwards! You're gonna love this! I wish..."
