The stone glowed, causing Jon to close his eyes.
When he opened them, he saw that he was still in his bedroom, but there was something different about it. The shape was wrong. All of his furniture and belongings were the same, but the shape of the room was different. He walked out into the hall. It wasn't his hall. But he did recognize it. It was Karyn's hall, from her house.
He ran back into his bedroom and looked out his window. He was no longer on the second floor. The bedroom was on the first floor, just like Karyn's bedroom.
A thought occured to him. Am I Karyn?
He ran over to his mirror and looked at himself. He was still a guy, although his face looked a little different, but familiar. After a few seconds, he figured out why. It was Karyn's face, or at least very much like it.
Someone walked past his doorway in the hall. "Oh, hi Jon."
He looked out into the hall. It was Karyn's mom. "You still know me?"
She turned around, making an odd expression. "Of course I still know you. Why wouldn't I? You're my son."
Son? Jon thought. Then he understood. He had switched families with Karyn. Now Karyn was part of his family. He had to find a way to fix this.
He went back into his room and searched for the stone. But it wasn't there. What happened to it?
Meanwhile, back at Jon's old house, Karyn took out the stone.
She was still sad that her grandfather had passed away all those months ago, but was happy that he had given the stone to her. Both Karyn and her friend Jon had made lots of wishes with the stone. And she wanted to make more with him, but she was moving away and wouldn't be able to do that anymore.
