There was a bit of silence before one of them decided to speak up. "So what are we going to do until then Jon?" Karyn asks as she sees him holding the stone and staring at it intently.
He lets her question roll around in his head for a bit before clenching the stone in his hand and turning his head up to face her. "I think I'm going to take a walk around the campus, kind of get to know some of the people I'm going to have fun with throughout our time here." he says as he starts to head towards the door.
Karyn walks up and tries to plead with Jon about behaving himself. "Please promise me you're not going to use it at least until the party?" she asks as she tugs on his arm.
Jon is getting a little bit annoyed at Karyn's constant whining about using the stone and pulls his arm away from her. "I'll try my best but I can't make any promises. If an opportunity comes along I'm not going to pass it up." he says as he opens the door and steps outside.
Karyn just stands there dejectedly and stares off ahead. "Please don't do anything stupid." she says as she sits down on one of the couches in the dorm and flips on the TV.

Jon is walking down around the campus, familiarizing himself with the surroundings that he's going to be staying at for the next four years. "This place isn't too bad. And with the stone, I'm sure to have plenty of fun while I'm here." he says to himself as he fiddles with the stone in his pocket, not being dumb enough to leave it out in the open.
He walks by, seeing who's being grouped up with who and who's conversing with who so he can have a bit of an idea of the social landscape. And when he sees a scrawny, smaller guy being heckled by bigger, muscular guys wearing jackets with the college logo on it and shakes his head. "Yep, just like high school only it's probably going to be even more insane." he says to himself.
Once he reaches the place he had started at, he decides to head back to his dorm with Karyn to kill time until the party when he sees someone who catches his attention. "No way. They're here?" he says aloud as he can't believe who he sees.
