Jon realized that there was nothing he could do. Except make sure that he didn't check the outcome.
Jon then thought that maybe it wasn't so bad. He could still confirm the wish. He just had to remember to not check the outcome, or else he'll have another mental episode like he had with the blonde hair wish.
