Sarah immediately stopped talking to Stacey and headed for the room again.
To Karyn, there were footsteps, getting closer. "Wait!" she said. "Someone's coming! It's probably Sarah!"
The footsteps stopped outside Karyn's room. "Open up!" shouted Sarah.
"We're leaving," said Jon. "I wish that Karyn and I were at my house and not here."
"Whew," said Karyn. "Sarah could have..." Her voice trailed off, because, after all, nothing had changed. She was certainly not in Jon's house. The wish hadn't worked at all.
Sarah slung the door open.
"Karyn!" exclaimed Jon. "It isn't working! It... oh, no! I wished that I would be in your house with you. I can't wish to leave because that would contradict the first wish!"
Sarah glared at the two teens. "What's this about teleporting wishes?" she asked. "Stacey may be a bimbo, but I'm not, and I'm smart enough to know something very peculiar is up with you two. I think it's that rock you've got...."
