"Long enough to get the full experience," Gary said wryly. "Two weeks, at least."
"Two weeks!?" Jon exclaimed.
"Oh come on!" said Gary.
"Why so long?"
"Well firstly I have more changes I want to try out on you. But secondly, if you're only a girl for a short time nothing you do would have any consequences! You could do whatever and act however you wanted knowing that you'd be changing back to a guy so soon."
"Why does that matter?"
"Well otherwise you wouldn't truly be experiencing life as a girl."
Gary had a point, Jon admitted. Plus, Jon was fortunate that Gary was giving him a choice at all, given that he seemed to be at Gary's mercy anyway.
"Okay... but I want an out," Jon said.
"Sure!" Gary agreed. "If you're truly not enjoying it you can ask me and I'll change you back... as long as you promise to give it an honest try!"
"I will," said Jon. "I'll admit, I'm actually kinda also curious."
Gary laughed, "I knew it!"
"But if I'm going to be a girl for so long, won't people miss Jon?"
"Of course they won't," Gary joked.
Jon shot him a look, "Not funny."
"Anyway, this is a magic ID card, isn't it? So it changes your identity. I'm willing to bet it magically changes your life anyway."
That made sense to Jon, it was magic after all.
"How can we test that?" Jon asked.
"Your name is Catherine," said Gary, and the ID changed to match.
"Hey!" Jon said.
"I have good reason." Gary replied. "Call your mother."
"What?"
"Call your mother. See if she remembers Jon or Catherine."
Jon reached for his phone and dialed his mother's number. It rang for a few moments before she picked up.
"Hey Catherine," Jon's mother greeted. "What's up?"
Jon was taken aback. "Uh... nothing mom. Just miscalled."
"Okay honey, see you later," Jon's mother hung up.
"I guess everyone remembers Catherine now," Jon said.
"Great!" said Gary. The mischievous grin returned to his face, "Now for more changes!"
