Late that evening, as they prepared for bed, Andy suggested the pill to Christine, simply telling her it was a new-to-the-market sleeping pill. Doubtful, but willing to try, Christine took the little red pill and, shortly thereafter, was sleeping peacefully. Andy wasn't fooled, though. He knew that at some point in the night her nightmares would arrive, and that would be all the logs either of them would saw.
So, with a grimace and a small prayer, Andy took the blue pill. At first nothing happened, just as he'd expected, but after a few moments he began to feel the room spin. After a few more seconds, the room began to tilt crazily and Andy suspected that he'd taken a bad hit of acid, or something similar. As darkness began to fade in from the corners of his vision, he suddenly wondered if he took the correct pill. And right before he completely blacked out, he realized that his girlfriend was supposed to take the blue pill and he was supposed to take the red.
He took the wrong pill.
But what would that do?
