Lizzie scanned through the menu options, trying to figure out where to start. Eric was a blank slate, a vegetable. His head, for all intents and purposes, completely empty. And Lizzie was facing the monumental task of rebuilding her brother's mind... from scratch. The cursor raced across the screen, her eyes trying to keep up.
It seemed that there were individual options for every possible mental attribute. Age, intelligence, willpower, critical thinking skills, creativity, and on and on and on. And that didn't even cover specifics, like memories... there were several prompts to type in individual memories.
"Hey, Eric!" she heard Jason call again. "What's going on, man?" Then she heard footsteps.
Oh no! Jason was coming up the stairs. There was no time for this! There's no way she could let him see her brother as a drooling husk of a person... There had to be a faster way. That was when her eyes fell upon an option she hadn't seen before.
LOAD EXISTING MENTAL PROFILE
That was it. That was something, at least. Without a second to spare, Lizzie selected the option and clicked "OK". Another prompt popped up. "Come on!" she nearly screamed through gritted teeth. She didn't have time to read it, she just clicked "OK" again. A progress bar popped up. Lizzie's hands began shaking. All she could do was watch the program, and hope the profile loaded before Jason got to Eric's room.

"Come on, man. I want to play that thing! I don't have all day." His voice was closer, the footsteps on the stairs getting louder.

"Man, your computer's so slow, I bet you fell asleep waiting for this thing to load."

Lizzie heard Jason clomp right past her door... Eric's was next.

Lizzie held her breath and bolted to her door. She stuck her head out in the hallway, hoping her brother would at least have some kind of mind. She watched as Jason opened the door to Erics room...
