As Lizzie moved the cursor across the screen, the window asking her whether to eliminate Eric's memory or not popped up again. She moved the cursor to "Cancel", thinking that this might have been some sort of an error, since she basically copied and erased the original program. That sort of thing could create problems.
But as she moved the mouse, she accidentally pressed the "Memory Clear" option instead.
"Oh no," Lizzie uttered. "What did that do?"
She ran into her brother's room and looked at him. He was still sitting in front of his computer, and on the screen she could see the game he had just bought - it was currently being installed onto the computer. But Eric's head was tilted to one side and a string of spit was hanging out of his mouth.
She ran over to him and stared at him. There was no life in his eyes. Oh, he was still alive, still breathing, but there was no one there. It's like his mind had been wiped.
His memory had been cleared. All of it.
"Eric," Lizzie heard from the stairs. It was Jason. "Is the game set up yet?"
"Oh god, oh god, oh god," Lizzie muttered. "What am I going to do?"
