After opening the door, Dave saw Victoria. And upon seeing her, he suddenly fell into a trance.
She smiled at him. "Dave, my love," she said, caressing his cheek. "Are you close to getting the necklace from your roommate?"
"Yes," he said, weakly. "Uh ..."
"Yes, what is it?"
"How did you know?"
"How did I know that Jake would have the necklace?"
Dave slowly nodded.
Victoria smiled. "Let's just say that I know things. Now, go back inside and take it from him, by any means necessary. I'll wait here."
Dave nodded, then went back into the apartment. The moment he closed the door behind him, he had forgotten all about Victoria, the young woman he met on his way back to the apartment, just a few hours ago. She had hypnotized him to follow her commands, but also to forget about her when he wasn't in a trance.
He walked back to the couch and continued watching his basketball game.
