Jake chuckled, mostly at himself for thinking that this ring would do anything. He idly wondered what the young girl would look like if she were closer to his own age.
"Ten years older," he said, though with the color of the stones he was half tempted to start reciting the Green Lantern oath. Jake stopped smiling and his eyes went wide as a green glow momentarily enveloped the girl.
After a second it was gone and Jake thought he was just seeing things, until she started to grow. The lean girl aged rapidly, shooting through her teens into early adulthood. Her tangled blonde hair was now sleeker and considerably longer, though still in pigtails. Her pink 'Dora the Explorer' t-shirt was now plastered against her mature body, showing off her midriff and hugging her sizable boobs. Even her jeans had grown with her, showing off curvy hips and long legs.
Jake watched as the girl, who was now chatting about boys instead of Barbies, got a pretzel with her mother. He looked down at the ring and thought of all the possibilities it held.
