As Jake took Rebecca out of the mall and into the parking lot, he didn't notice that the woman who was watching him (Mrs. Andrea Reynolds, a prim conservative 45-year old) followed him out. What she mistook as discomfort from the girl was actually the girl being put into a trance. So, she decided to help the girl out and keep that "creep" away from her. She was just being a good citizen.
Unfortunately for her, it probably would have been better if she would have left well enough alone.
Once Jake got out into the parking lot, he started giving Rebecca hypnotic commands. He was having a blast with this remote control, and especially this particular function of it. All he had to do was aim the remote at someone, hit "MC" and they'd immediately fall into a trance. And once in a trance, their minds were like putty in his hands.
"Do you understand everything I've told you?" he asked Rebecca, after he gave her the hypnotic commands.
"Yes," she said.
"Please, when you're in a trance, call me Master."
"Yes, Master."
Jake smiled.
