Jon was impressed by the sight of the log cabin Karyn's family rented. Unsure of which bag was his, Jon wandered around the back of the van until the rest of the family grabbed their bags. After taking the only remaining bag, he wandered after Mr. and Ms. Black as they made their way to the cabin door. Inside, everyone in the family immediately split apart and started to wander the building and stake out their rooms. Not one to care, Jon plopped his bag in the first bedroom he found then followed Megan as she wandered around the property.

"This is much better than the place we rented last year," Megan said as she looked out the back window at a large in-ground pool.

"Yeah," Jon responded, not knowing if that was true. The cabin was genuinely impressive, with a full kitchen, modern furniture and high ceilings. He wandered outside and admired the pool, which is something he didn't expect to find at a cabin.

"Moooooooom, there's no TV," yelled Megan from somewhere inside.

"I know sweaty," retorted Ms. Black. The two continued to bicker while Jon slowly closed the exterior door. Beyond the pool was an absolutely stunning view of a distant mountain range. Taken in by the beauty, Jon pulled over a nearby beach chair and gazed silently at the nature around him.

"Hey, honey. Enjoying the view?" Jon looked to his right to see Mr. Black peeking his head out of the cabin.

"Yeah, it really is," Jon responded honestly.

"Mind if I join you? I need a break from those two."

Jon chuckled then patted the seat of a nearby chair. "I don't blame you."

Sitting with Mr. Black was surprisingly nice. They both laid back and watched the mountains in silence for several minutes. Mr. Black then placed his hand on Jon's knee and gave him a knowing smile. "I am really proud of you. You're turning into a genuinely good person and it makes me feel like your mother and I did something right."

Jon blushed but didn't respond. He didn't expect this type of conversation and it made him feel guilty for taking the moment away from the real Karyn. With some hesitation, Jon looked at Mr. Black and said, "I love you Dad. You did good."

Mr. Black smiled then chuckled to himself. "Well, we did something right with one of you at least. The jury is out with Megan." With that, Mr. Black sprung back to his feet and slowly made his way back inside the cabin. "Back into the lion's den."

The exchange made Jon feel genuinely loved. He knew his real family cared about him but they aren't weren't an openly affectionate bunch. Jon ran his hand down his knee where Karyn's father had just touched him. When he pulled his hand back towards his waist, he felt something hard in Karyn's right pocket.

"Holy shit!" Jon yelled. Inside his pocket was the wishing stone. Jon assumed that the stone was left with his old body after the wish. "At least I don't have to worry about Karyn doing something stupid with it this week," he murmured to himself, careful to make sure no one else could hear him.

Jon quickly hopped to his feet and made his way back towards his room. After closing the door, he opened Karyn's bag and hid the stone at the very bottom. This didn't feel like a particularly safe location but it was the best he could find at the moment.
