"I can stop it, but it will cost you," Jon said.
"But I'm a school girl. I don't have any money," Haley whined.
"Well then, how about you and Breanne remain the way you are for your payment," Jon said.
"That's good. Just undo it on everyone else and prevent us from further transforming," Haley said.
"Are you sure? You'll never be able to become Jake again."
Haley thought about it. She really didn't want anyone else to change because of her shortsightedness, but she didn't want to permanently lose the chance to return to normal either.
Jon could see that she was troubled by her decision. "But perhaps I could help you with that. Come this way," he said, leading her further back into the store. He stopped next to one of the many shelves lining the store's walls. He picked up a small glass vial containing an amber-colored liquid. "Drink just a drop of this and all your troubles will drift away."
She really was rather troubled by her predicament. But did she just want her troubles to disappear? Or did she want a different option?
"How much?" she asked.
Jon smiled. "For you, it's on the house. Of course, it's only one drop. Hardly enough reason to make you pay for it. Unless ... you'd rather have the whole vial."
"No, just the drop." But was this what she really wanted?
