A pink satin bridesmaid's dress. He looked at the smooth, shiny fabric. Something about it just drew his eyes to it.
"Bree would love this," he thought. He took the dress to the front counter, not even bothering to check the size. At the counter, the man was waiting for him. Jake noticed the man's name tag, which read "Jon".
"So, is that all for today?"
Jake thought for a moment. Wasn't there something else he came here for? He looked at the dress again, satisfied he'd made the right choice. "Yeah, I'm sure." Jake paid for the dress and walked out of the mall and to his car, placing the dress carefully in the backseat.
It was only when he sat in his car and started the engine that Jake realized his mistake. "Damnit," he nearly shouted, "I forgot to buy a costume!" He looked at the bridesmaid's dress in the back. "It'll have to do," he thought. He didn't have time to go back in and find a new costume.
Arriving at his apartment, Jake carried the dress trying to avoid any neighbors seeing, but also trying to prevent wrinkles. He walked in the door and laid the dress over the couch, when a though crossed his mind. "Always a bridesmaid, never a bride." The thought made him chuckle. He carefully took the dress from the garment bag and held it up to himself.
"Such a lovely color," he said as he undressed and began to pull on the dress. At that moment, Breanne entered the apartment. She did a double take when she saw Jake.
"Jake? What the hell?"
