The main problem here is continuity (and a side order of the character's nature).
Continuity because it was semi-agreed in the story that one of the gods would go meet the parents (so it might be good to explain why that didn't happen).
Character nature because, well, it would fit Lucas to worry about that.
If you still feel it's overexplaining, I can eschew it, no problem (or add a minor comment by Lucas in another, later episode).
Then again, the "character nature" part itself might be explained away: Given that Lucas and Cass will visit (and speak in) a meeting of DEITIES the next day, it is rather conceivable that a DVD would rank REALLY low in Lucas's concerns right now, no matter how self-conscious about these things the character might be.
