As soon as my eyes cleared, I took a moment to look around. I seemed to be in a small room, just a few feet across on either side. There was a simple bed in one corner, a dresser along the wall, and a small desk with some drawers, a chair, and a mirror. It seemed very plain. A sign on the door read "Dressing Room #4." Just a generic room really.

"This must be my 'home.' At least for this character" I said to myself. My eyes flickered in surprise at the sound of my own voice. It was definitely feminine.

"Wow, voice synthesizers or changers and everything. They didn't leave anything out, did they?" I said to myself, then laughed as I heard my voice again. "It's a good thing Suzie should be easy to recognize. Because she'd never know it's me like this!"

I took a few steps over to the mirror to see exactly what I looked like here. It was a bit disconcerting the way my hips moved when I walked, and my chest bounced. Not to mention the high heels I was wearing. But the fact that I was feeling these things at all was amazing enough in itself that it didn't really bother me. This will be truly awesome as soon as I get a chance to make a real character.

The image in the mirror was pretty much as I had expected. My character was definitely shorter than I was in real life. And definitely female. Quite sexy at that too, though I wasn't too thrilled with that fact. Or with the tight top and short skirt I was currently dressed in. The earrings were kind of interesting though. There were two or three in one ear, and five or six in the other. I wondered if they were supposed to have some meaning, some cultural significance? The designers seemed to have covered everything else here from what I've read. It truly was a self contained world.

Tapping the earrings brought a tingling sensation to my ear, and a slight jingling sound as they knocked against each other. I took a moment to run my hands along the sides of my avatar, to make sure everything was working properly. It felt Strange. But real. Very real.

"This is incredible!" I breathed. "I can't WAIT to make myself a real avatar! But for now " For now, I was wasting time. I had been in a bit of a rush to start, and really my half hour probably wasn't QUITE up yet. Plus Suzie knows I get a bit distracted sometimes. But that's no reason to just stand here.

Maybe I should take a few moment to look around this place first though. This must be a generic starting point for new players, so there's probably some helpful items or information around here somewhere for new users. The startup screen had said that I would start in Epic City Dance Hall 1, so that must be where I am. On the other hand, I'm sure I have a map on me somewhere, and that should be enough to start off, right? Maybe I should just go out and look for Suzie immediately. I don't want to keep her waiting after all.
