And, suddenly, he was standing in Karyn's bedroom.
"Wow! How did that happen?" Karyn asked.
"I was trying to tell you over the phone. I made a wish to never lose the stone and now it's inside me."
"Inside you? What are you talking about?"
He ignored her question. "Now whenever someone wishes for something and I can hear their wish, it'll come true."
"Really? Then I wish that I had a cheeseburger."
Jon cringed as he felt the tingling sensation wash over him again.
A cheeseburger appeared in Karyn's hand. "Wow, you were right."
Jon didn't like that Karyn had just blurted out a wish, but at least it was a harmless one. "We have to be careful. My sister wished for something and now my mom is a Goth."
"Jon, your mom was already a Goth. She has been for years."
"Well, yeah. You didn't hear the wish, so you'd think that."
"Whoa. So, this is a new reality?"
"Yeah. Let's hope there aren't any more."
