Jon and his mother immediately decided to try again. They rushed to into the teleporter, hit the switch and an alert beep began repeating. When they looked there was a message on a screen:
MAINTENANCE REQUIRED
Illegal function Reported.

They dialed Telemark only to have the receptionist inform them that there was a glitch in the system and that there was a backlog on return to normal services. They were given an appointment one week later. They were congratulated on at least remaining functionally individual human beings and advised to attempt to live each others lives normally. They were offerred a large settlement fee up front for their inconvenience and as a hush up fee.
"I guess we'll have to live with it for a week." Jon said.
His mother seemed more concerned. "Jon, you should know that..."
