Suddenly Jill interrupted. "Mom... Dad... what are you talking about?"
"Sarah McMillan," said Karyn. "She's a bitch, Jill. She thinks she's superior to everyone else and she likes to manipulate people... guys with sex, girls with fast-talking and lies and broken promises...."
"Really?"
"Yes, Jill."
"I'd like to talk to her and see for myself."
"But Jill, you shouldn't..."
"Thanks for the advice, Mom!"
"I see," said Sarah. "Jon got into a transporter accident, and became a tree. You were created with Karyn's DNA and an acorn that was part of Jon."
"That's right," said Jill. "I registered at City Hall so Karyn and Jon are officially my Mom and Dad now."
"But they're not like a regular Mom and Dad," explained Sarah. "A Mom and Dad aren't usually the same age as their child."
"But they are for me!"
"Of course they are," said Sarah. "But Jill, remember they're the same age as everyone else. They can be wrong, too."
"You mean wrong about you, right?" asked Jill.
