"Well, it all happened when I was six. At the mall, I asked Santa for a really hard-to-find toy and he decided to give me a gift. Not the one I wanted, but one that he said would allow me to get the toy I wanted and more. And then he transferred some of his power to me, giving me the ability to change into Santa whenever I wanted," Karyn explained.
"So you're telling me that the Santa at the mall was the real Santa?" Jon asked.
"I guess so. I mean, only the real Santa could do this to me, right?"
Jon shrugged. "So what did he mean by that? That you could just get the toy by yourself?"
"Oh, that's one of the best things of all about being Santa Claus." After a few seconds of shutting her eyes and concentrating, Karyn's body shimmered and morphed, and then stopped when she was back to looking like Santa again. "Ho ho ho," Santa Karyn chuckled. "Take a look at this."
Santa Karyn grabbed her school backpack, opened it, then pulled a bunch of things out of it that clearly wouldn't normally fit within the bag. "Any bag or container becomes just like Santa's bag of toys, if I'm the one using it, in the form of Santa. So go ahead, Jon. Tell me something you want, and I can reach into this bag and get it for you."
Jon did have to admit that that was a pretty cool ability to have. He thought for a moment about what he'd like to have, then he told Santa Karyn.
