Unfortunately, Santa wasn't coming back. Because when he traveled back in time, he forgot to take into consideration where he was. It was December in the town, so that meant that the space that it took up was on the other side of the sun.
After Santa traveled back in time, he ended up in the middle of space, and thus died. Because even Santa needed oxygen to survive.
