The four set out from school, making their way towards the suburbs that contained Sarah's house. Steve couldn't help but notice both Jon and Karyn seemed prone to distraction along the way.Jon would often look over passerbys appraisingly, particularly couples or young men, without even seeming to realize it. Karyn, meanwhile, ignored people almost entirely. Instead she had slipped off her shoes early into the journey, and walked on grass and soil over concrete and cement whenever she could. Steve idly wondered if he was displaying similar characteristics, but couldn't discern anything himself.
Ten minutes after leaving, school, however, Steve heard a faint humming come from his hand, and glancing down realized that the gem embedded on the ring had begun to glow. A look revealed Jon's and Karyn's rings were acting similarly, and it did not take long for them to catch on either.
"Uh... are you guys doing that?" Biff asked the trio.
"No, I believe the rings seem to be acting or reacting entirely autono-" Steve began before the glow of the rings changed to three bursts of light. When the light faded, all three of them were gone, leaving Biff alone and very confused.
Meanwhile, at three separate points throughout Lake Point, a green, purple, or pink flash of light appeared, leaving the three ring bearers in their wake. Jon, Karyn, and Steve each looked around their new surroundings, each finding themself in a very different location than before.
