"You're sure you're not changed at all?" Jon asked Karyn as the two of them headed down the stairs, toward her living room.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've looked exactly the same since I made my stupid wish yesterday, Jon." Karyn replied, walking over toward her couch and picking up her backpack which was located next to it. "And no, before you ask, I don't have a penis."
"I wasn't going to ask that..." Jon replied. "I'd think you'd have mentioned something like that on the phone."
"That does raise more questions, though. Why did your ring change you, and mine didn't? The only thing they seem to have in common is the fact that we can't use the stone with them."
"Which is a huge problem. The stone is our best chance at getting rid of these things."
"No kidding. just try to stay calm." Karyn said. She then smirked. "Don't get your panties in a bunch."
"Not funny, Karyn." Jon shot back. You must know what this means. We need to tell someone else about the stone."
"What?! We can't do that. It's too risky." Karyn said. "You can't trust just anyone with this kind of power, Jon. Especially when we can't use it to fix things."
"What choice do we have? I can't stay like this. Even overlooking the mental trauma of it, how long do you think I can hide something like this at school?"
"Oh, shit, that's right." Karyn said. "Well, if you're really careful..."
"Get serious. There's little to no way. Even if I can avoid being found out during gym, there's any number of other ways I can be found out. We just need to get someone..."
"Like who, Jon? Who could we trust with a wishing stone?" Karyn asked, walking over toward her front door.
"We could try Pete." Jon said, following Karyn.
"The guy who brags about the atrocities he commits in those sandbox games of his? Not sure I'd trust him with something that can give someone ultimate power."
"They're just games, Karyn. But, fine. What about Jay?"
"I'm not sure he would be able to overlook the chance to get even with all the guys who bully him and his friends."
"We could trick someone. Get them to hold the stone and make the wish so they don't realize what it can do..."
"They'd notice the glow, Jon. Face it, it's too risky." Karyn said, opening her front door and turning the knob to make sure it was locked.
"Then what do you suggest? Just staying like this and cutting my losses?" Jon asked, leaving the house.
"Hell no." Karyn said, closing the door as she left the house. "But, there is something you've been overlooking. We can just do some research to find out how to get the rings off. Then, best case, you go back to normal and we can use the stone again. Worst case, you stay as you are now and we can use the stone again. Either way, you can get Little Jon back."
"Little?"
"Jon, you're not exactly in a position to defend your masculine pride, so just let it go. Now come on, if we don't get moving, we'll be late."
"Yeah, yeah, fine..." Jon said, reaching into his pocket and touching the stone. He looked back up and saw that Karyn was a few feet in front of him now, and looking back.
"Come on, lady, get a move on!" Karyn yelled back.
Jon rolled his eyes and began walking faster. "You're asking for it, Karyn. You're really asking for it."
