The figure placed down the replica of the stone that he had created. It's appearance was truly flawless, looking exactly like the true wishing stone. Not a single flaw in it's appearance existed. However, it was powerless, as Jon would more than likely discover in the morning.
He made his way outside of the Gibson house, making sure not to awaken any of the people sleeping within. He glanced down at the stone, and smiled to himself. It had taken a long time to get this stone, and now that he had it, he could finally go ahead with his plan.
"Finally, the world will return to how it was meant to be. You worked admirably to stop me, Gibson." the figure said. "But your grandson lacked the protections you had. I'm actually a bit disappointed that you didn't take that into account before you died. Oh well..."
He reached into his pocket and produced a small bag. Held within were a number of rings. He had started with a mere six, but the number had steadily grown over the years while he searched for the stone.
The rings held the power of the Greek Gods and Goddesses, long thought to be mere myth. With the stone, he could send the rings to the people meant to hold them, and when they ascended to true Godhood, which would happen gradually as they accepted their new roles, he would probably be handsomely rewarded.
And, even if not, the wishing stone would be a fine prize in and of itself.
Opening the bag, he gripped the wishing stone tightly. "I wish the rings in this bag would be distributed to the people in this town who are meant to wield them."
The rings shot out of the bag, scattering all over the town. The man began walking down the street, heading back to his hotel. He would find a more permanent location in the morning, somewhere that he could watch as the changes unfold.
