Karyn made the deduction that if the stone came into the possession of someone else (in the case that Jon didn't exist anymore - as it seemed he had, unfortunately), that person might be Jon's lesbian sister Zoe, who was now an only-child.
So, instead of heading to the Gibson house, she headed to school, just like normal. And that was where she was now, wandering the halls, looking for any sign of Zoe. If she could get the stone from her, maybe there was a chance that she could wish Jon back.
Unknown to her, though, she wasn't the only one searching for Zoe.
"I think we should go to your locker," Athena said. She was still trying to get used to hearing Sarah McMillan's voice instead of her own.
"Why?"
"Steve is you now, remember? It's his locker now. He has to show up eventually."
"Okay, yeah. That's a good idea," Zoe said.
They walked down the hall in the direction of her locker, but then stopped dead in their tracks when they saw someone they knew. It was Trevor Blake, the only Goth boy in school. But now he looked like anything but a Goth. He had a hulking muscular body and tanned skin. He wore a T-shirt that was tight enough to show off the contours of his buff chest, a pair of blue jeans, and socks and sandals. Gone was his spiky black hair, replaced by ... well ... nothing. His head was shaved in a crew cut hairstyle. In fact, his overall appearance made him look kind of like ...
"Biff," Athena suddenly said.
"Yeah, that's what I was thinking too," Zoe said.
"No. Biff," Athena said again, pointing down towards the other end of the hall.
Zoe stared at the figure walking towards them. It was a Goth boy. Black spiky hair, pale skin, lanky build, black eyeliner, black lipstick, piercings, spiked collar, fishnet shirt, long black leather skirt, and black boots. From his general appearance, he looked a lot like the original Trevor Blake, but this boy had Biff's face. It was a Goth version of Biff Meadows!
He walked directly towards them, then stopped. "Hey, Steve, Sarah. Have you seen Tiffany or Melissa?"
Zoe and Athena looked at each other, then back at Biff. They figured that he meant Tiffany Sanders and Melissa Smith, Sarah McMillan's two closest friends. They guessed that they were Goths now too. But who did they switch with?
"Guys?" Biff asked, when he didn't get an answer.
"We haven't," Athena finally said.
"Well, Laura told me that she wants to leave for the concert earlier. So if you see them, tell them that, okay?"
"Sure," Zoe said.
He paused and looked at them, like they were acting strange or something, then he walked away. As he walked down the hall, they heard someone call him a freak. He just gave them the middle finger and said "Fuck you." Yeah, he definitely acted like Trevor. But it was weird seeing it come from Biff Meadows.
"Who did he mean by Laura?" Athena asked.
"Maybe ... uh ..." Zoe said, thinking. "Laura Steemer?"
"Hmm. Yeah, I suppose. I thought only Sarah and her friends would get switched, not her. They don't get along so well, you know."
"Yeah," Zoe agreed. "But Laura is the student council president. You can't become something like that and be unpopular."
"Yeah, I guess so." She paused, looking at a nearby clock. "We better hurry up and find Steve ... I mean, Zoe. There's not much time left before school starts."
And the two Goths continued their search.
