"You...you know my wife, don't you?"

"Karisma? Yeah, sure...the whole school knows about her. I mean...it's kinda strange, but hay...you knocked her up, an' then you married her."

"She used to be a girl named Karyn."

"She changed her name? Well, that happens with people in that..."

Jon looked Rick right in the eyes. "She was Karyn just yesterday. She was white, our age, and you'd known her for years. I changed her accidentally...using....um..."

Jon had slipped his hand into his pocket...then into another pocket...then another. He'd intended on drawing the (Substitution) Wishing Stone from his pocket and holding it before him with a flourish...but...it was gone.

Rick nodded and looked grave. "Yes, Jon. Your empty hands are very impressive."

Jon began searching his pockets again, getting more and more paniced as he did. The stone! He'd been sure he'd slipped it into his pocket when he'd left the house...

Karisma - a plus-sized, pregnant black ex-stripper and prostitute who'd been a white, teenage girl just a day ago - waved to the boy she called husband and stroked her full, pregnant belly and smiled at the thought of the babies inside. She was such a lucky woman. Who'd have thought she would find herself in this situation? She chuckled to herself, and mumbled again to herself "Such a lucky woman."

She pulled up in front of the grocery store, reached over for her purse...and saw the stone on the floor. She saw it...and somewhere in the back of her head...(wishing stone)...she knew what it was. She reached out and touched it...felt it tingle...

Not knowing the limitations on the stone...that it would substitute one word of her wish...she rolled the stone in her fingers and began to say...

"I wish..."
