Kyla (she may have been a boy named Kyle now, but she still felt like a girl) looked across the hall at Jay's locker and saw a girl opening it up. She nearly did a double take when she saw the girl's face. It was Jay! But ... he was a girl now.
Whatever happened to change her into a boy must have also turned Jay into a girl.
