As Sarah McMillan left her house to go wait on the curb for her boyfriend Biff Meadows to pick her up, she suddenly got a call. She opened her purse upon hearing the familiar ring-tone and that's when she noticed an odd-looking stone lying on top of all her other belongings. She grabbed her cellphone and then the stone. And as she talked on the phone with her friend Tiffany Sanders, she looked closely at the stone, trying to figure out what kind of stone it was and how it could have ended up in her purse.
"Are you listening to me?" Tiffany asked.
"Huh?" Sarah said, distantly. Her mind seemed to drift away from her conversation momentarily. She shook her head, clearing it. "What ... what were you saying again?"
"I was saying that you should, like, get that new car you wanted. Your dad's, like, totally rich, right?"
It's true. Her family was rich enough to get something as expensive as that Porsche that she wanted. But then Biff wouldn't be able to pick her up anymore. And she really enjoyed having him pick her up.
"I'm still thinking about it," Sarah said.
"Well, I think you should get it. Listen, I'll see you later, kay? I've gotta meet up with Mr. Collins. I think I'm going to pass Physics afterall. Kay, bye." Then she hung up.
Sarah put her cellphone back in her purse, then sighed. Thinking about her boyfriend Biff, the Porsche that she wanted, and Tiffany's sexual escapades (which got her better grades, for some of her classes), Sarah muttered "I wish ..."
