(Author's Note: Oops. Jon already got ready for school, so there was no reason to make a wish to do the same thing. Usually I avoid making such blatant continuity errors. Oh well. I'm going to continue the story anyway. Just ignore my blunder.)
"I wish that all of the things that create pollution never existed." The stone glowed, causing Jon to look away. When he looked back, he had an expression of confused shock. Why did he wish that? He looked at the stone and realized for the first time that there was something different about it. It was green! Like someone had painted it.
Jon stood still for a moment, noticing that there was something else that was wrong. His house was located on a busy street. Normally, he'd be able to hear ambient traffic sounds, but right now it was totally silent. He ran to his window and looked out onto the neighborhood. The street was still there, but there were no cars. No cars anywhere. Not on the street, along the street, in driveways ... nowhere. He thought back to the wish he was forced to make and realized that he was the one that got rid of the cars ... because cars created pollution. But if no one had cars, how did people get from one place to another? Did they all just walk? Or ride bicycles?
As he looked out the window, he immediately got his answer. Because around the street corner came ...
