"Er, let me think. Anything physical, of course. Which would be shopping for panties, stockings, and any other clothes you might wear. It would also mean differences at the doctor but it's not like I know your doctor visits anyway. Let me think... what else happens because you're a girl down there?"
"Can't think of anything?"
"No, I can," replied Karyn. "It's just hard! Imagine trying to figure out exactly what events are caused by someone being one sex. I can't even know everything--suppose someone has a bad attitude towards you because of your sex but they never told anyone. I'd have no way to find that out. You're not on any sports teams and there aren't a whole lot of other things that are split up by sex. Hmm, you were a bridesmaid at your aunt's wedding. but aside from that..."
"What about the boyfriend part? Did I have one?"
"You were going out with Steve Farber but it only lasted a few months."
"Seriously?"
"Of course, seriously! How would I even know enough about what your old life was that I could make jokes about it?"
"Okay. Was I a cheerleader?"
"No."
"Am I in any gay student groups?"
"No, but you could join. You do have enough of a gender problem that it won't seem funny asking to be let in and they have to let everyone in anyway."
"Any other ideas?"
"No, same as before."
"Are you sure... oh, forget it. I've asked you enough about this, Karyn. I just need to figure out where to go from here, that's all."
