After Jon's first period class, he met up with Karyn in the hallway.
"Oh, Karyn. I forgot to give you this," he said, handing a tube of lipstick over to her.
She looked at it, as though she wasn't sure what it was.
Jon saw this and said "It's lipstick."
"I know it's lipstick. Why are you giving it to me?" she asked.
"I thought it was yours. I found it in my bedroom."
Karyn shrugged. She had accidentally left stuff of hers in his bedroom before. Maybe it was hers. It couldn't have belonged to someone else. Karyn was the only female friend he had and there wouldn't be a reason for any other girl to be in his room. She put it in her pocket, not realizing that it was no ordinary lipstick. Before the intruder broke into Jon's bedroom, Jon made a wish that both he and Karyn would never forget the stone, so neither of them knew that the lipstick was the stone.
"See you later," Jon said.
Karyn waved, then went to her locker.
