(I wonder if anyone caught my mistake. Karyn's breasts and hair had been solved earlier, so they shouldn't have been solved a second time. Let's assume the first time never happened.)

Jon smiled at the little girl. "Come here, Petra."

The girl said "You're gonna drop me auntie Karyn! Don't wanna drop..."

"Don't be silly," said Karyn. She picked up the girl. moved her away from her chest, and gently put her down on the floor where she could walk to Jon. She slowly went over to him. "Don't trip," said Karyn, but Petra seemed to be handling it okay.

"I can't believe you did that," said Jon. "I told you if she grows up at normal speed I can keep making wishes for a while."

"I don't get that," said Karyn.

The little girl pulled at Jon's shirt. "Mommy..."

"Hold on, Karyn. Yes, Petra?"

"I wanna toy."

Jon pat the child on the head and said "I wish Petra has some safe toys... and she doesn't notice I made any wishes." A pile of mostly plastic things materialized. Jon sent the child over to where the toys were as Karyn waited, and explained. "As I was saying... and boy, kids take up a lot of attention... if she's a baby I can keep making wishes. If she's a kid and she walks around she isn't here. I can't make wishes on a magic item that's not here. Worse yet, what if she goes to school or something and other people start making wishes by accident?"

"It doesn't matter," said Karyn. The cure for wishes is more of them, right? Wish that there are no accidents. And if you need to wait for her to make a wish, you wait."

"Yeah. I'm a mother now, my magic item is now my daughter. If she needs to walk around, then she can walk around."

Karyn had her own theory about the mother part. It could be that when Jon became pregnant, he mentally became pregnant too--taking on some of the personality of a pregnant woman. At any rate, she wasn't going to try to reverse it, even if it was strange watching Jon treat the baby as a real child and a transformed magic item at the same time.

Karyn nodded to Jon. She was ready to make small talk when she suddenly realized something. "Jon, I think we have a problem with the wish."

"Oh?"

"Wishes change reality. Your daughter is about three years old. Does everyone remember you raising a child for three years?"

"Good question. It could happen either way, I suppose. She could have had a sudden magical growth spurt that didn't change history, after all there's already a sudden magical pregnancy that didn't change history. I mean, suppose you made her twelve. It would make more sense for there to be a magic growth spurt than for me to have given birth twelve years ago."

"But I didn't make her twelve, I made her three. Three years ago you were 14. It's young for a pregnancy, but it's not so young that it would take more magic just to survive the birth. You could have been raising a child for three years."

"Why are we discussing this anyway?" replied Jon. "I just need to look around. If I have been a mother for three years there's got to be some evidence of that...." He glanced around his room, eyeing various objects and corners for some sign of how things were now.
