The stone now laying on Jon's night-table looked exactly like the original in every way. It was, however, NOT the same...!

Once upon a time, it had been a 'normal' wishing stone. Over time, however, it has slowly absorbed the lust, hate, and evil of the people who had misused and abused it. In time, it formed a rudimentary consciousness... one that purposefully worked to twist every wish made upon it to ensure the most humiliating, horrifying, or freakish result. This made it very undesirable to use, and the stone felt twisted pain and not being able to fulfill it's new desires... until a poorly-worded wish gave it a chance.

One user, horrified at what had happened with a wish, had then wished the stone would make every wish 'flawless'... and the stone gleefully twisted that wish to it's own ends.

The stone's evil power could now help it 'corrupt' a user's wish. Upon just holding the rock with the intention of using it, the bearer will feel a rush of power and excitement, and the stone will stimulate the thought of all the different wishes the user could make. Unless the user purposefully fights against this 'power intoxication', they will blurt out a hasty and poorly-worded wish... and, indeed, if very intoxicated, will make things worse by trying to integrate several wishes into one in a sort of 'run-on' wish.

The rock will then twist the wish to it's most horrific end... but this is how it earned the name 'flawless'. No matter how twisted the result of the wish, three things will happen:

First, anybody who heard the wish, no matter how bizarre the wish was, will instantly be convinced that it is, in fact, exactly what the person making the wish wanted to say. They will unquestioningly accept the wish as 'reasonable' and 'sensible', at least as far as the person making the wish is concerned - indeed, they will often believe that it was an 'obvious' wish for that person, since they will now 'remember' that the wisher has wanted/been interested in/obsessed by whatever the outcome of the wish is.

Secondly, seeing the wisher get 'exactly what they wanted', they'll desire to use the rock themselves - a desire that will grow stronger each time they see the rock grant another 'long-held desire'.

Third, and most horrifying - though the person making the wish will be aware of all changes, and horrified by the result... they will ONLY be able to act as if this was exactly what they wanted!
