"I wish people liked Goths and didn't think they were freaks," Zoe said. The stone glowed, granting her wish. Zoe thought about all the people at school and elsewhere who made fun of her and her friends, just because they were Goths. Just because they were different, it didn't mean that they were losers or freaks. If this stone really could grant wishes, then she couldn't hesitate from stopping people from treating her and her friends like they were sideshow freaks, which they weren't.
"Zoe!" Jon yelled. "I already told you what to wish for. Why did you say that?"
"Don't yell, Jon. You'll wake Mom." She smiled, wondering what her mom was like now. She never liked the fact that Zoe was Goth. Maybe now things would be different.
"Zoe, you have no idea what you've just done. If you don't think wishes through, anything could happen."
"Whatever, Jon," she said, walking out of her bedroom.
"I knew this was a bad idea," Karyn said. Jon looked at her, thinking that maybe she was right, then followed his sister.
"Zoe, where are you going?" Jon asked.
"Where do you think? I want to see how things changed," she said, on her way to her mom's bedroom.
