Jon stood up so fast, he almost fell over. And when he dashed towards the door, he almost tripped on his boots (Zoe's boots). He had to get to his bedroom quick. He didn't know for sure, but he had a feeling that he had just swapped minds with his sister. So if he was in Zoe's body then Zoe must have been in his body. And the wishing stone was with his body.
Jon bursted in and saw himself, standing exactly where he was when he made his wish. His body looked shocked, which he could understand. It's not every day that people go around swapping bodies.
"I'm ... Jon," his body said, as if trying to understand or even accept it.
"Zoe," Jon said. It was still so weird hearing his sister's voice coming out of his mouth. But, of course, it wasn't really his mouth, was it? "You see that stone you're holding?"
Zoe (in Jon's body) looked down at it and nodded.
"Give it to me. I can fix all this. I'll get my body back and you can have yours, and everything will be ..."
"Oh, I wish I was somewhere else," she suddenly said desperately, out of shock. She didn't know the stone was magic, but now she definitely did.
His body disappeared from the room.
"No!" Jon yelled.
Jon's body, along with the stone, suddenly appeared just outside the school. But immediately after the teleportation, Zoe's mind swapped with someone else's, who was within 100 feet of the stone. And that person was ...
