Jon woke up the next morning, eager to use the stone. But when he reached over to his nightstand, his hand grabbed a deck of cards, instead of his stone.
He looked at them. "What the hell? Where's the stone?" On one side, each card had a picture of the wishing stone, except for a select group, which had a picture of a glowing wishing stone. On the other side, each card had a different word or phrase.
Jon wasn't sure what happened to the wishing stone, but he had a pretty good idea that this was no regular deck of cards. Just the fact that each card had a picture of the wishing stone on it was proof enough.
Testing them out, to see how they worked, Jon picked one of the cards with the glowing stone on it. It said: I WANT A CHEESEBURGER. Was it a coincidence that the card was about his favorite food?
Then he picked another card. This one had a non-glowing stone on it. It said: ONE MILE DISTANCE. He picked another that said: NO REALITY CHANGES. And another: NEW MEMORY. After he picked a fourth card (which said: FREE), all the cards he picked moved by themselves, until all the non-glowing stone cards circled the one labeled I WANT A CHEESEBURGER.
Then all the cards glowed, just like the wishing stone usually did. And a cheeseburger appeared in front of Jon.
Jon guessed that the cards worked very similarly to how the stone worked. But all in all, he'd rather have the stone back.
