Jon danced his way into the kitchen, where his mom was almost done making breakfast. Next to his mom's plate was one of her romance novels. Apparently, she was reading it earlier and put it down on the table, so she could make breakfast.
"You're in a good mood this morning," she said to Jon.
He smiled and sat down in his usual seat. As he waited for his meal, he wondered if he could increase the storage size of his mp3 player. There were so many more tunes he'd like to have on it.
"I wish this mp3 player could hold as many songs as I want." The stone glowed and he watched as even more songs were added to his player.
But something else happened too.
Even with all the music he was hearing, he could have sworn he heard his mother say "I love romance novels."
"Did you say something?" Jon asked.
"No," she said.
Jon shrugged, thinking he probably was just hearing things. He grabbed his romance novel off the table and started reading from the last place he left off. Suddenly, memories of reading dozens of other romance novels filled his head.
"I don't know how you can stand those things," his mom said, setting down his plate of breakfast. "Romance novels are so boring."
"Not to me they're not," Jon said.
