Since Karyn made another wish, that meant that she had acquired yet another piece of someone's personality. In this case, it was someone that came into the restroom to wash her hands. That person was Mrs. Finch, the school librarian. And Karyn now had 10% of her personality, which was her desire to be proper. So now she was 50% Karyn, 10% Sarah, 10% Kyla, 10% Zoe, 10% Athena, and 10% Finch.
Zoe and Athena watched as Karyn left the restroom, with her head high, wearing an outfit that was very similar to Athena's.
"Where did she get that from?" Athena asked. "I'm sure there aren't any dresses in there."
Zoe was intrigued as well.
The warning bell rang throughout the school, indicating that school would start in ten minutes.
"I'm gonna go check it out," Zoe said. "I'll catch up with you later."
"Okay. But promise me you'll tell me everything."
"Sure." Zoe walked into the restroom, almost running into Mrs. Finch.
"Please, young lady. Watch where you're going."
"Sorry," Zoe said, then continued on her way. Usually she'd make more of a fuss, but her mind was on something else at the moment.
There was nothing out of place, that she saw. She ducked down and looked under the stalls, and that's when she saw the pile of preppy clothes that Karyn had been wearing. Zoe opened the stall door and picked up the clothes, wondering where Karyn could have possibly gotten the gothic outfit from, and when she did, something fell out of the bundle of clothes and onto the floor. She picked it up.
A stone? What was a stone doing in a pile of clothes?
Then she remembered something about a stone. When Jon was fighting with Karyn, he said something about wanting a stone back. But why would Jon want it so bad? It was just a stone.
