Jon walked out the door of his house (now his former house, apparently) and was about to walk straight to Karyn's house. But didn't when he saw the car parked in his driveway. He didn't know who it belonged to, although he had a growing suspicion that it was his.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a car key, confirming his suspicions. He opened the driver's side door with it and got in. Jon did have his license, since he was 16, so he knew how to drive. But until now, he never had his own car.
He started it up and drove to Karyn's house and parked alongside the road.
Then he walked up to the house and knocked on the door. Karyn's mom opened it.
"Oh. Hi, Jon. I haven't seen you in a while."
"Uh, hi, Mrs. Black. Is Karyn here?"
"Sorry. No, she's not."
"I wish I knew where she was," he whispered to himself, forgetting that he was holding the stone.
As the stone glowed, Jon aged another year, becoming a little bit more muscularly fit. Now he was 19-years old, making him three years older than Karyn.
The knowledge he wanted popped into his mind. Karyn was at school, obviously, since it would start within the next twenty minutes.
"Can I help you?" Karyn's mother asked.
"No. I already know where Karyn is."
"Do you know Karyn? I've never met you before."
Jon was stunned. If she had never met him before, then ... were Karyn and him still even friends?
